Kacies Kihikihi
(sp. Zanclus cornutus)
The Moorish Idol or Kihikihi is aptly named as “Kihi” in Hawaiian means “curve”. Several years ago my niece and I were snorkeling off Kahala Beach. We came across a school of ten and were treated to a show as they paraded back and forth along the edge of a reef. It was a beautiful sight with their dorsal fins trailing gracefully.
